Can fertilization occur in Uterus.?

Almost every website would state that fertilization occurs in fallopian tube without giving the reason. My speculations are ova life time runs out by the time it reaches uterus ..Any supporting facts.or any other reasons.

when woman's ovary release the egg the ovum is viable{i.e.if fertilised then may develop into an embryo}is about 24-36 hrs.it takes 7-10 days to reach uterus, depending on the contractility of the fallopian tube{[remember!ovum has no motile organelle} sperm after ejaculation is viable for 6-15hrs. has a big thick flagella travels fast and meets ova in the f.t. in rare cases ,yes the fertilisation can occur in the uterus
