clearly you have an obsession about truth today. Why are you asking 10 different questions about truth? You must be feeling guilty about some lie you told.

It is not a commodity in the sense that apples and oranges are! Honesty is a value. That means you want it even if it does not seem to do you any good in a particular situation. Because it is important to you in itself, and not for what it will get you.
If honesty is a commodity, then I can decide to use it when it seems useful. For instance I might come to the conclusion as a salesman that if I am honest, people will trust me more and buy from me. That will be good until I find myself in a situation where the benefit of lying is just too great. Since honesty is a commodity for me rather than a value, then in that case I would lie. But that's not honesty at all. It's just saying the truth when convenient. Real honesty is a value.

Mr Ed! Good on ya!
Commodity - something that can be bought or sold? For some, I imagine the answer is yes. For me, I have to agree with Mr Ed's statement. In my corner of the universe, honesty is a way of life. :-)
Honestly! :-)
