It's to late now...
As soon as you realized that that might be someone else you should have quit the conversation. Now, all you can do is to apologize and if he does not want to forgive you than let it go!
If he is not your friend enough to inform you when he is on line and tell you what to watch for and how to know if it's not him.than he might not be a good friend at all.
But if he forgives you than make up and code word or special question or so...
Than you should ask each other a question on the begin of conversation that only you two know the answer...
Like; you ask him how are you and his answer should always be
something unique....

Its very unfortunate that your friend listen to others.
But, if he has changed the password, then how someone else could use his screen name again? So, if you have thought it to be your friend, then its not your fault at all. I would have done the same.
Moreover, when you had doubt about his identity, you asked him and he answered affirmative. Means, you tried your best to check at your level. You just cant stop talking to your man only because you are suscipicious about his identitiy. After checking, you found the answer positive and you have continued talking to him. I find its logical.
I think, only thing you can do is wait for your friend to come online and talk to him with all the details. Tell him that, being confirmed by him about changing password and affirmmative answer about the identity, you talked thinking its your friend.
Even after that, if its found out that someone else is using his screen name, you can fix some secret answer for some common questions before you talk more on any personal matter.
Remeber, if you are honest, you will be honoured someday. May be, you are misunderstood by your frined now, but he will realize the truth soon.
So, dont worry. Wait and talk to him when you get chance.

I had a simlar problem when someone got my e-mail password and e-mail a lot girls in my class. Lucky for me I had a speech class and explain to everyone what happe, so it ended good.
First if it was just his unit joking around, you should be ok. However if it someone else that just got his password, there is a good chance that he lost the account for good it that person change the password before he could.
Try and send him a letter with a care package with things that he likes and picture to remind of the good times. This should show him how much you care about the person.
Good Luck.

He's obviously under a lot of stress out there or he wouldn't be freaking out on you for something that isn't your fault. Next time you talk to him I would come up with a password that is just between you two so that when you speak with him on line all he has to do is type that word and you know its him. That way he wont be stressing because you're mad because he's over reacting. Everyone wins.

Dear Jill:
It seems as if you are making everyone on this chat a joker but still yet I have a mind to reply to you.
If what you are saying is true then the person who was on your friend screen name was him and he was trying to see if you are cheating on him, he would not tell you that it is him so that he will leak this info and you will be careful. Or if it was not him it was someone he set up to do that! Be careful of this relationship, ur guy is watching over you and he is insecure.Remind him that you are always with him and assure him of your love.
Good Luck
Love Sanam

I really feel for you there. There are scammers all over the Internet, it seems; I just dealt with one today who tried to con me with a 419 fraud. (Ask me about this later; it's a doozie.) I don't think it's acceptable to give out our screen names, according to community standards, but you can see my profile if you'd like to talk, same as anybody.
As for your friend, if you have his email address, you can contact him that way; or maybe try to phone him if you have his number. If you think there's been some kind of miscommunication with him, it's important to find some way to clear it up.

That happened to me once. If someone is coming under his id then its not your fault and he shouldnt listen to everything someone tells him. I would wait to see if he says anything or hint to him about chatting with him earlier and see if he recalls it. When this happend to me come to find out it was the same person. That was his excuse for playing around and getting away with it. Be careful that it isnt him and he is just giving you a tale.

the only thing i could tell u is tell him the truth. whatever that may be. but it wasn't your fault. remember that. it's not your fault at all. it's not like u can see who's on the computer. so u never really know exactly who you're talking to. IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!
