Why don't they all unite until there is only 10 or 20?

why ARE there. not is. are. I guess because they all have their beliefs and customs and they don't want to change. I don't blame them.

Why are there 50 states in the USA?
What Americans sometimes say to each other: "if you don't like it here, why don't you move to another state?"
Each state has its own laws, and you can live a different way of life simply by moving to another state. This comes from what the American forefathers envisioned; federal law and state law...the federal system of government.
"state" is also another word for "country"
...if you don't like living in one country because of its laws, its people, its customs, its language, etc...then move to another country.
I believe the reason we have so many countries is partly because people like having choices on where they want to live and how they want to live.
