Amazon marketplace was always my favourite place to get cheap, used books. If you want new or used books then Amazon, Powells and Abe Books are good places to look online. You can also try half.com and ebay.
Another avenue to try might be former students - maybe you can ask your teachers if they know anyone who's trying to sell their old books, or put up a flyer asking for old books in your university or college.

Try searching ebay or using Amazon to find book and seeing if anyone is offering them in the marketplace for cheap. Otherwise, you could ask more advanced students for their old books.

They have all kinds of books at prices way cheaper than the bookstores.
