Does anyone know what might be holding it up?

According to tvshowsondvd.com, there are a bunch of legal issues holding it up. 20th Century Fox wants to release it, but if they do, it could mean some lawsuits. More info can be found at http://tvshowsondvd.com/shownews.cfm?ShowID=841

Well, unfortunately it did come out on DVD.
However, it sucked so bad every copy imploded upon itself and created a temporary subatomic black hole and then dissipated.

b'cuz the 60's batman T.V. show with Adam West sucked, AND his suit is so tight in the crotch its descusting, so the FCC banned it from the light of day

It really wasn't a very popular series and it might not go over very well today.
