Termination at ESPN
On July 25, 2006, New York Post writer Andrew Marchand reported that Reynolds had been fired from ESPN. The ESPN spokeswoman confirmed that Reynolds "is no longer with the network" but did not give a reason for the departure.[1] "Three people who work at ESPN and familiar with the case said the cause was a pattern of sexual harassment."[2] Reynolds confirmed that an accusation of sexual harassment was the reason for his departure but called it "a total misunderstanding" and that "I gave a woman a hug and I felt like it was misinterpreted."[3] His replacement on Baseball Tonight has been Steve Phillips, who himself faced a sexual harassment lawsuit as the general manager of the New York Mets in 1998.[4]

It was a damn shame was what it was. Reynolds was the best analyst on that show. Kruck is worthless, he should stick to drinking beer and eating sausage. Gammons is good, but he's no Reynolds. Reynolds played the game, and did it well. I hope something can be done to get him back by next season.

I agree with Georgie about Reynolds' firing.

As for ESPN working around it, I really thought they couldn't find anyone worse than Reynolds. So what do they do? They get Steve Phillips, possibly the worst analyst I've ever heard. Amazing!

He was accused of sexual harrassment by a female co-worker. Reynolds said it was a horrible misunderstanding...he was giving her a hug, and she took it wrong.
