Depending on the species, turn over your gecko.

- Two bumps under the anus towards the tail suggests it is a male; females much smaller or no bumps.

- Above the vent (anal opening), an inverted V shape of pores that protrudes suggests male; females’ pores are depressed.

To be performed by veterinarians only, ask your vet to show the genitalia of the gecko’s sex.

There are other tell tale signs of the gender dependent on the reptile species available at Reptic zone, Gecko World and Pet Place.
