Im a sweetheart by nature. I love helping people. Im friendly. Im always told i have a great smile & im a breath of fresh air 2 be around because of my positive attitude. Im very social ane easy 2 get along with. So u can see why it scares the hell out of me when i get pissed off and start seeing red and i cant control my temper. It takes a lot to severely anger me but when im pushed to that point of no return i completely snap and i curse and scream and cry and it takes way too much to calm me down. I tend to warn people to not even try because i hate to be touched when im pissed (i have swung on a few people) Why do i get so mad? And why cant i control it? Its sooo out of character for me. And i really really would like 2 get help. Any advice or suggestions?

In some cases, this problem occurs because individuals attempt to always project a perfect image to the outside world. They want others to think that they never lose their temper, never think a bad thought, never sweat. They want the outside world to perceive them as almost perfect.
The problem with this attitude is that all problems cannot be deferred or swept under the table. Sometimes, one must make tough decisions and articulate unpopular thoughts.
If one attempts to bottle up all of that pent up negative energy rather than releasing the tension by being forthright and honest about situations, sometimes that tension rises to a point where it must be released in a violent manner.
You might want to consider addressing life's problems directly one at a time as they come up. Solve the problem before you as best you can and then move on to the next one.
This might require that you become more stringent with your opinions with others and you might make a few enemies along the way by being more forthright.
However, I guarantee you that you will slowly attain an emotional level that you are comfortable with and you won't need to abruptly relieve all of that built-up tension in a negative fashion.

You mention that it takes a lot to severely anger you, but it also sounds as if this is a real problem and you are getting 'severely angry' pretty often.
I would suggest you talk to a professional about this as there are usually problems under the surface that are not being dealt with which can cause this uncontrollable emotion. Therapists can also suggest better outlets of your anger and emotion.
It is possible that you let people trespass over your personal boundaries until it becomes unbearable. You might try keeping a journal of your interactions with people and see if there is a pattern or if certain people or situations are setting you off.
Good luck, I hope that you find resolution.

Have you gone to therapy about it? I think that everyone gets pushed to their breaking point at one time or another in their lives, but you should probably take the time to learn about yourself and why you react the way that you do. I think that it is a positive thing that you don't like the way you act and want to do something about it! A therapist should be able to direct you to some good types of coping mechanisms and ways to calm yourself down before you lose it totally in situations like that.
Good luck!!

There organizations that can help you find the help you are seeking. How old are you? There are alot of reasons why you are experiencing what you are feeling. I hope that you find the help you need. You might want to try seeing a professional where you live. You can find out where by contacting your public health center in your area.
