No, you should put it down. When I go to sit sleepy at night and dont check, if my husband has left it up, I sit abruptly on the cold porcelain and it is very annoying.

I think it looks gross when it's up even after I'm done I put the top lid down I just think it's good manners. Plus we can fall in if you don't put it down!

Well my mother doesn't. But I have had gf's that do.. I have put it to them like this... WE NEED THE SEAT UP... YOU NEED IT DOWN.... YOU DON'T HEAR US CRYING TO PUT IT UP WHEN YOU ARE DONE DO YOU???? IF IT IS UP AND YOU NEED IT DOWN, PUT IT DOWN.... HOW HARD IS THAT????
