I saw a documentary which said that some doctors are advising their post-surgical patients to add hydrogen peroxide to their drinking water to speed up the healing process. They say that the patients who do this actually do recover faster than the ones who don't. Is there any truth to this? If so, can healthy people do the same thing to maintain or improve their health? What should be the ratio of hydrogen peroxide to water?

I'm with Pip. Do not drink this as it can be toxic. Co to WebMD.com and type in the word. You will be able to determine if you want to try this.

PLEASE DON'T!! Don't believe everything you see on TV. I've never heard anything like that and swallowing any chemical without speaking to a professional first is a VERY BAD IDEA.

you can use it as a mouth wash.. but if you swallow it it can over expand and cause you to vomit from too much pressure.. I've not seen any info on it being a treatment and i wouldn't recommend it.

I don't know, and I can tell you that most people on this site won't know either. Please don't start swallowing chemicals without talking to your doctor first.
