I was told that people should wait a year before they make dramatic changes in their lives after the passing of a loved one.
Although, I say if you are really unhappy--and were really unhappy about the people, before the passing of your mother, finalized things up, sell things off and go.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your mum. It is said that sometimes a change is as good as a rest, and this may be just what is needed to make you happier and at peace. On the other hand, it is an emotional time for you, and perhaps you should give the situation just a little more time. Yet you seem so depressed that perhaps leaving London and go to Australia, where will comforted by family, may be a good way to make a new start to give you a boost. It seems you have very good reasons, however, make sure it is feasible, economically and career-wise. Actually this may be a great way to start a new business/career. All the best.

Sorry about your mum.
You don't mention any real argument for staying, so I think you kind of made up your mind already. And I think you made the right decision.
In situations like this it is best to follow your feelings. You want to be happy, you would probably regret forever if you were staying, so it will be better to prepare moving today then tomorrow.
I hope you'll have a great life in Australia !

I have heard that you should not make any major decisions shrtly after a death in the family. Try waiting 6 months to a year and see how you feel then. You wouldn't to make any decisions now that you might regret later. When we are grieving, it can make us think irrationally. However, if you need some time now, try a vacation. Sorry about your mom. I know you will not forget your mom, but I hope that as time passes, you will be able to remember her without hurting.

Go where your heart leads you. Don't make a snap decision. Evaluate the situation and then make an educated one. Think about what you have to do when you get there, what will you do, where will you live, can you afford to make the move, what can & can't you take with you?
Good luck.

I think you should try to hold off making any decisions until more time has passed. Sometimes making decisions too soon, after something terrible has just happened, can leave to regrets later on in life. I think you should at least give it several months- at least.
