Try chewing your food until there's not much of it left before swallowing and take sips of drinks rather than gulps

Indigestion, also known as functional dyspepsia is a common complaint. Typically one has a sense of fullness or bloating, especially following a meal, but it can also manifest as gaseousness with belching and stomach pain. The common treatment is antacids or the newer hydrochloric acid inhibitors. Helpful for indigestion is too eat slowly, chew thoroughly, don't overeat and limit fluids with meals. Chewable papaya tablets contain the enzyme papain which can be helpful for indigestion. Of course if you have persistant stomach pain, it may be due to an ulcer, so see your health care provider.

Obviously drinking fizzy drinks causes burping. I heard that eating quickly causes a person to swallow air with their food, which comes back up as a burp. So slow down when you eat.

Hi, it sounds like you have a Hiatus Hernia. Don't eat spicy food, greasy food. If it effect you when you lie down in bed, put blocks under back legs of bed so bed is tilted.
Do go to your GP to get it checked out and some medication which does help.
Have suffered with this for years.

go get checked by your Dr. my friend just had that same problem, they did a laprascopy (sent a little camera down her throat) that was after they did an MRI and other tests. It may be due to the meds you are on, stress, or a medical condition, however, if it's been going on for awhile you need to have it checked. She just did on Thursday and hasn't gotten results yet.

The burping is a symptom of something else, especially if stomach pills don't work. So you need to find the cause. Go to a doctor.
