I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and I can't look or smell any sort of food. I'm only able to eat saltines and they are even starting to make my stomach turn. I haven't threw up too much but the nausea is crazy. What have you done to help ease your pain? Also how long did your nausea last? Almost any smell makes me wanna yack! thanks for your answers.♥

I'm almost 12 weeks and finally starting to ease out of the morning sickness. It was worst around 6-8 weeks then it started to ease off. I take vitamin B6 every morning, that helps a lot. Check with your doctor on the dosage, because too much can hurt the baby. I also try to eat first thing when I get up. When it was really bad I was having DH bring me some plain toast in bed before I got up. Gingerale worked pretty well, but I got sick of it fast. I have also heard to try a little bit of peanut butter on the crackers (got that from my Dr) and it seemed to help some. Something about the protein combined with the carbs. I also try to avoid foods and smells that I know will set me off, and when I feel like I need to vomit I go sit down near the bathroom and sip water. Or, if you feel like what you just ate may come back, try laying down on your left side. That helps your body digest and get the food through your stomach faster.

I hope you feel better soon! My doctor told me that by 12 or 13 weeks most women feel a lot better. I know that seems like a long time but you'll make it! Good luck!

The best thing you can do is try to eat before you even get out of bed, like 20 minutes to an hour before you get up (keep a sleeve of saltines on the nightstand). I know you're turned off by food, but the more frequently you can eat, the less nauseated you'll feel.
If you can do it, try protien shakes or smoothies. They can be easier to handle than solid food.
I also take homeopathic pills, which you can get at the health food store. Talk to someone there, but I take "nox vomicus". It's a little tube of sugary pills that you let dissolve in your mouth, three or four at a time, every four hours. They work wonders! They are safe to take during pregnancy, but run it by your doc anyway. They cost about 7 bucks and have zero side effects.

hopefully this won't last too much longer...
I didn't throw up at all, but I found the nausea bad for the first trimester.
I ate what I could...saltines were good. plain bread products. somehow scrambled eggs and toast were okay.
but I found that I needed to eat all thru the day or else I'd get nauseous. Like, all day. Just couldn't stand getting hungry.

Ginger is allegedly a good anti-nausea thing...maybe ginger cookies or ginger ale might help?
Also I knew some women who were helped by those anti-motionsickness wrist pressure point bands...
good luck!

I don't know why, but cheese helped me. String cheese, colby cheese on my saltines, and cottage cheese especially (it has to be real cheese, not processed cheese). I had nausea from morning up until late afternoon for my entire first trimester. The seasick wrist bands seemed to help, too. Also (although it might have been all in my mind), I seemed to feel a little better on the days that I exercised in the morning. And make sure you get enough sleep!

I was the same!! Especially to smell meat frying.

Suck on lemons.. They will almost instantly take your nausea away.
I did lose 15 lbs the first trimester. After that I was able to eat and eat!
You will get to feeling better. But suck on the lemons! The saltine crackers did not do it for me.

Each pregnancy is different. My first pregnancy I had slight nausea in late afternoon and ate saltines. My second I had nausea and vomiting early morning, My third I was nauseous all day. Nothing helped.

This usually subsides after 3 months. You can take Ginger Root as this helps and is not harmful to the baby. If it gets unbearable go see your doctor and they will most likely prescribe Phenergan. This works too but will usually make you feel sleepy.

Let Coke sit out until it loses its fizz. Sip that. It will help. Sometimes just warm water will help. Cold oatmeal without anything on it. I know that may sound unappealing but it actually goes down easy on your tummy and calms the sick feeling too.

I sucked on lollipops and this really helped for me. My favorites were the tootsie pops and the dums dums!!!! My nausea lasted right up into my 3rd trimester! I hope this helps!!!
