A Packard Bell. I didn't think there was still any of those ancient PC still around. Not knowing the exact model numbers, I am going to say "no". As long as it has been since Packard Bell was making computers, anything out there is probably a pre-pentium unit with slow memory in it. Odds are that it would not even physical fit into the memory slots of you Compaq (unless it is also an antique). As putting the wrong memory into your computer could damage the system board and cost you several hundred dollars in repair, I would not do it when you can buy the correct memory for $20-40.

first of all, by asking this question, you probably don't know what you are doing under the hood of your computer. Playing around or getting advice online like this can lead to severe consequences if you screw something up.

Best leave the tinkering to a professional.

probably not. Memory is so specific. You could check to see if the memory is the same kind, but prepare to be disappointed.

For more memory, check out newegg.com. Good prices.

It wont hurt your computer to try. I they are not compatible just remove it and restart your computer. It will go back to its origenal state. although, it would be a good idea to creat a restore point first.
