Check with local universities or with the state department of education website.
in Indiana we have a transition to teaching program for adults who already have a bachelors degree in an approriate subject (I don't know if criminal justice is one of the approved ones). In one very challenging year, they get all their ed courses, all their field experiences and students teaching done...they earn their master's and will be ready to look for a job at the end of the year. The program is June-June here.

i dont know where you are from, but here in Knoxville TN , South College has a T.E.A.C.H. program, where you just take classes to add to the degree you already have. This is a 1-2 year program. Maybe you could find out if any of the schools have this program where you are from.

it totally depends in which state you live. state requirements for credentialing vary greatly. i'm thinking, since you already have a four year degree, you may just be able to take a test (in california, it would be the CSET), and then from there..go into the credential program (grad program for aspiring teachers). in that credential program, thats where you learn a bout state content/subject standards, lesson plans and so on.
contact your local university with a school or education or credential program. inquire about prerequisites or make an appointment to go in and talk to a advisor in person.
good luck

To be honest, I left my job to become a teacher 2 years ago, and It is such a regret, teaching is not a great thing to do, its not about the kids its all about meeting tagets and ticking boxes. Your life is no longer your life as your day doesnt end at 3.30. Unless you are very, very lucky and end up in a school that is like eden you wont be impressed!
