I had a friend living with me, we had a dispute on Sunday and she left some belongings, the thing is that we workt together and she has told our co-workers of the incident, making me look bad.(she saying my husband and i stole from her). well I dont want to deal with this here at work and at home, I dont want to be mean and throw her stuff out, so I was wondering how long I should give her, I told her she needs to pick it up today by 7:00 is that too soon???

I cannot even begin to tell you how many people our office has represented in this type of matter... and each and every time we have won some major cash for the person who had all their stuff thrown out or sold.
Pack up all her stuff and put it in the garage or some other safe place. Do not dictate when she must pick it up. Tell her to let you know when she is coming, and make all reasonable attempts to be available at that time. Don't be unavailable out of spite.
You could also bring her stuff to work and give it to her there.

You are not mean at all. I stay with other friends in apartment as well. You can't be responsibile for her stuff since she has left.
However give her 1 more chance if she doesnt come to pick up today as maybe a 2-3 more days. If she doesnt even after that you can just place them out of home.
Trust me you are not being mean, it just shows how irresponsibile and immature she is leaving her own stuff behind.

I know here where I live you have to give the person 30 days to pick up their things . So you have to inform her she has 30 days to pick up her things and you must do this in the form of a registered letter or deliver the letter to her. Also if she is making you look bad at work , I would talk to my or her supervisor and let them know what is going on and that she is making an uncomfortable work envronment for you.

Leave her until the night before your normal garbage collection time, if you have one where you live. If her stuff isn't gone by then, then out it goes with the garbageman.
Otherwise, give her a reasonable deadline so that she can go get a truck or whatever she needs to do...today probably is too soon.

Want to look to clear your name a bit? She will look a little silly if you were to take her things to work for her to have. If you are such a thief, you would not care to return her items.
However, if you keep or toss her stuff, she can use that against you too.
I would not care too much what she thinks of you but the word thief runs bad in any business. I would want to clear my name.
Good luck on what ever your choice is!

Give her written notice for 30 days. You have to hold her things in a safe place. If there is not to much I suppose the things could be taken to work. You cannot just toss the property.

I think that is fair. She shouldn't have spouted off at work about personal relations. She is obviously very immature. You are not a storage house. If she don't pick it up, take it to work and dump on her car.

I would put them outside and call her and tell her to come get them. She made you look like a fool, I wouldn't be too concerned about her feelings!
