You poor things, your son must be devastated. It's never easy losing someone so close, that meant the World to you. I suggest you just give it time and let yourselves grieve. Time is a great healer, but right now he must be extremely heartbroken and in floods of tears.
I also suggest you strongly consider counselling, as sometimes it helps to talk to other sufferers, victims of loss. There are plenty of trained councillors that specialise in 'teddy bear' bereavement.
It would be a nice gesture to dedicate a park bench in 'Charlies' name, or plant a tree (next to the bench) in memory.
I wish both you and your son happiness for the future and trust you'll both get through these painful times.

Maybe, just a thought, if you clarified where "in town" is, someone from the area may be able to help.
However, I have three sons, and lost toys, no matter how cherished, tend to remain lost. If you can find an identical replacement, your son is probably young enough that he will accept it without question. However, if he has "made it his own" by chewing on it and so forth, he may notice the difference. Fortunately, he's young enough that this disappointment will most likely be forgotten very quickly. If this bear is an essential sleep aid, then you have my sympathy, but eventually (it usually doesn't take long) he will attach himself to another toy and it will become his favorite.

Noting the country you're in might help. There are 94 Chesterfields in 8 countries in the world.

Well it might be a lost cause so just let him know Charlie went to live with Goldie Locks and the three bears but Charlie wanted Davie the new bear to keep your son company now. So go grab a new cuddly toy for him!

Go back to the market and maybe someone has handed it in, you would be surprised how honest some people are, check with the market office, and good luck know what it's like when a child loses it's favourite toy

oh no! that's really not good. Have you tried contacting the market centre management? They should be able to tell you if charlie was found or put you in touch with someone who can.
If you don't have their phone number, you could call the local council to ask for it.
I hope that helps and I hope charlie is found safe!

If you havent found him in the lost and found department. Try buying him another and making up a story that he wondered off because he was ill and the doctors made him good as new. If you cant get a replacement time is a healer.

Post an ad in the paper, in the lost and found section. Or if you know you lost it in a certain store, call that store they may have put it in their back room for safe keeping, just in case someone came looking for it.

Buy another! It is probably giving another child the love that it gave yours.
