My last period started on September 8, 2006. I have not started my period for the month of October. My period is regular.

Your period could be 1-2 days late and you should get a reliable result. If you get a negative and your period still doesn't show, I would test every other day for a week. If you still don't see any signs of your period, it would be time to go see your doctor to see what is going on.

Even though the boxes say you can take the test up to four days before your missed period, I didn't get a positive test until about 3 days after I was supposed to start. It all depends on the levels of hCg in your blood. In a lot of people its not high enough to show positive for a while.

I'd wait a week and then take the test. Stress and a number of other factors can cause your period to vary.

Take one as soon as possible so you won't stress out about it unless you want to be pregnant.
