I love it. I love the humour and wit it has.

Did anyone find it easy or hard to read?

yes i loved it, but being scottish i found it easy to follow the grammer and dialect. its a great book, shame the sequel (porno) was dreadful and unmakeable to movie format

I'm Scottish and found it easy to read. I much preferred the book to the film. My imagination let me go as faras my stomach would allow. The film went a bit too far.
If you enjoyed this book by Welsh, why not try maribou Stork Nightmares or Filth?

Yes. It took me a day to read the first page and a half (no joking) due to the use of the scottish dialect. once I was passed that it was very engrossing, although I believe you can get a version without the scotish twang. The film sticks pretty close to the book as well.

It's hard work at first, but as you get into it the text seems to become easier. I agree that it's superbly written and very funny in parts. But its overall feel is very dark and harrowing. Comparison with the film is quite difficult, as the two deviate from one another in many ways. But as always, if you want to hear the story in its purest form you have to read the book, if only once.

I'd recommend it to anybody who wants to read some genuinely original fiction.

You have to get into the scottish twang of the way it's written but yes, great book and a good movie too if you haven't seen it, I recommend you utilise 2 hours of you time.
