I would love to have A-rod everybody is saying he is having such a bad year but, what did he do (these arent exact) about a .290 average 35hrs 100runs and 109rbis and 13 stolen bases.....how is that a bad season, it isnt the only factor is that A-rod make 25million a year and everybody expects a .325average 50hrs 140rbis 120runs and 20 stolen bases........he wasnt too far off of that but, everybody has a down year evey once in a while

As I recall the Yankees have a shortstop and a pretty good one too so I don't think they new John McDonald. I'm a Yankees fan and I would see no problem getting rid of A-Rod. He seems to be bad chemistry for the Yankees and they have enough problems with the lack of good starting pitching and Stienbrenner hovering over everyone.
Chances are the Yankees will unload him but certainly not for a song. Someone will have to pony up for his services and Stienbrenner knows it. The other condition would be that he will not be traded to a team in the same division unless it was a sure fire offer that would weigh heavily in the Yankees favor. They are no fools.
Whoever gets A-Rod will get a player with hall of fame numbers but a player who compiled most of those numbers in meaningless games. When it counted, he bottomed out in New York. For 25 million plus a year you MUST produce, I don't care where you're playing.
Needless to say the off season will be as interesting as the season itself. Anyway, I'm still going to enjoy the playoffs. I told Georgie Porgie that if the Tigers beat my Yankees I'd root for the Tigers the rest of the way.......and I will.

I'm a Cardinals fan from Missouri...and I am kind of conflicted on whether I'd want him, or not. The first thing that would have to be changed is that insane contract...he would obviously have to take a pay cut because no one deserves that much loot. Especially considering he would end up having only the second best numbers on the team behind Pujols. His defense is also pretty suspect over at third.
I think he would perform better in St Louis, especially in the playoffs. St Louis fans are much more realistic and knowledgeable about the game than Yankee fans tend to be. I think a lot of the pressure would be off and he would flourish. Just look how well he did in the playoffs for Seattle. It would be the same kind of scenario here in St Louis.

As a Cardinal fan like hunnk33, i would love to see A-ROD come to St. Louis, but i would want him to play his natural position of shortstop. Putting him at third base just goes to show how unknowledgable of baseball George Stinkbreiner really is.

Me being a Dodges fan and hating the evil empire jankees, yes I would take him. Give the Jankees Wilson Betemit. Let ARod take the Dodgers to the playoffs, then NOT put him on the playoff roster!!!
Since it is PROVIN he can't hit or even field in the playoffs. He seems to disappear.

Absolutely. A Rod on ANY other team but the fish bowl/zoo that is the Yankees would be as great as we all, Yankee fan or not (and I am not), know he can be.
PS
GO TIGERS!

Nope, the Reds do not need him. Reds couldn't absorb his contract anyway. They will have both Dunn and Griffey for the same amount as A-Rod's contract.

Nope. His salary is way too high and the Mets have got David Wright, anyway.

No, not even if you pay all of his salary.
We got Brandon Inge and Carlos Guillen.
That's all we need.
