get some drain cleaner that works with emzines, this does not work fast, may take several applications, but it will not hurt the pipes, and, eventually, will solve the problem. Treat periodically to prevent future problems.

3 possible solutions for you....
Just fill the tub with a little water and then use a plunger over top of the drain. This is the least messy and most effective way.
Wirehanger
From a wire hanger, clip off the straight bottom piece (where a pair of pants would hang) using a pair of pliers or wire cutters. If you only have a pair of pliers you can bend the metal until it snaps where you want it to break.
On one end, fashion a T handle big enough to hold onto.
On the other end, bend a little hook about a quarter of an inch wide. You want it just wide enough to grab onto the gunk but not big enough to get stuck in the drain.
Fish the hook end down into the drain and start feeling around. You don't need to go very far since most of the hair and goo get tangled in the drain mechanism.
Most drains have a plus-sign shaped drain with four holes around it. Use the tool carefully in each hole and try to hook onto the hair clumps and pull them out. It may take a little practice, but you will soon get the hang of it.
If you feel like the tool is stuck on something just push it back in and twist it until it comes out easily.
Keep doing this until you don't feel any more hair or obstructions in the drain.
Put the hair in the trash.
Turn on the faucet, test the drain and rinse out the sink. You should find it draining just like new.
Liquid Bleach
My parents and some other people I know used concentrated bleach, and it did wonders. However, if you are worried about the ecology aspect of it, not a good one.

Since we have a septic system, we don't use draino or harsh chems. We dump a pot of boiling hot water down the drain several times a year to keep it clear. Just be careful you don't burn yourself.
If the clog is really stuck, use the plunger method with some water in the drain to create suction.
DO NOT use a plunger if you put a harsh chem in the drain as it could splash and cause serious damage to skin and eyes.
(Hey, cute pigtails, btw : )

1st if you can take off the drain cover ( removing a screw in the center) or prying it off then fill the bottom with water and take a plunger place it over the drain and rapidly plunge the drain pipe it should bring up the clog. but be prepared for a unpleasant smell. or use a wire coat hanger and fish the pipe until you are satisfied with the results.

Take the drain cover off, straighten out a wire clothes hanger, and then use that to fish the hair out of the drain. It's disgusting but it gets the job done.

Unless you can get to the drain then you will have to use a product like drano. There are other products that use pressure to unclog drains however if you have old pipes then they break really easily.

Open up a wire coat hanger and push it down the drain and wiggle it about till the blockage of hair becomes loose. Some of it might come out on the wire which is a bit gross, but it works! we did it that way at our house at university!

The only thing other than a chemical to disolve it would be to take the drain cover off and try to pull some of the clog out somehow.

Plumbers use a Snake which is a metal coil with a corkscrew at the end. You stick it down the pipe, turn the handle, and it should latch onto the hair.
