I have these boots that I absolutely adore! They are LizFlex and I have only had them for a year or so. They fit great, they look great, but I work and play in the city and they have been wrecked by the darn brick and cobblestone sidewalks of Boston. The heels a bit beat up, plus the little rubber pad on the bottom of both heels have come off and are lost. Is it super expensive to have them repaired, or should I just bite the bullet and get new boots? I really do not like this year's styles though... so suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

I also have a favorite pair of boots! The heel was all worn out so I took them to "Cobblers" at the mall and they did a great job! They actually sliced off a part of the heel and replaced it. It looks really nice and you can hardly tell they've been repaired. It cost me about $12 - what a bargain!
Just take your boots to your local repair store and they'll tell you upfront if the can repair them and how much it would be. They can tell you exactly what they'd do so you have an idea of what the job would end up looking like.

Check out some stores like Winner's, Field's, Payless as well as the thrift shops before you go to an expensive boutique like Aldo. I had to convince my wife to change her shopping habits but it worked and she still finds great things. The only time she goes to the boutiques is when there is a big off the rack sale or some bargain bins in there. She still looks good. She wanted to get new jeans and I told her to get my mother to take in some old ones she had that were still nice.

get them repaired, the shoemaker/cobbler can do wonders for old beat up shoes. Of course, only the cobbler can tell you if it is even worth it to repair them and how much it will be. Just take them in and they can give you a quick estimate. It is usually very inexpensive and I have done it to my favorite shoes many times.

I had a pair of fav boots that I got redone 5x. I loved them. Had them for almost 10 yrs (then got pg, feet got to fat). Get them fixed! Why waste $$ on a new pair you might just like anyway.
