i am lost on the show lost Why r they on the island ? Who are the other people on there and where did they take the children ? Why are they on the island and where did they get the stuff to make houses and the food and the books ? How did they get there? And why are the people from the plane there and why are the other people got them hostage? the one that can explain the most will get the points Thanks

They are on the island because that's where they landed after the plane crashed. No one (watching) is sure who the "Others" are, that's one of the main plot lines. The island was being used by a group of scientists known as the "Dharma Group", and that's where all the tech stuff and living stuff came from. Why the people from the plane are there is another plotline. Was the whole plane crash staged? If so, how did they arrange for all these people to be on that particular plane? Some people believe the whole thing is Purgatory or a dream; I think the "Others" are part of the Dharm Group and the whole thing is a big experiment in who humans deal with stressful situations.

The main characters are on the island because their plane crashed there. The plot has not revealed much about the Others yet, including how they got there, where they got the supplies, why they took the children or adults hostage. On those subjects, everyone is just as lost as you.

I would had suggested you watch the recap show that came on a few weeks back, but I doubt they will be showing it again, but it basically summed up the whole show in it's simplest form without all those stupid flashbacks and stuff.

Rent the first and second season. That will explain some things, but the majority of your questions are still unanswered for all of us. Just set back and enjoy the show and try not to get to aggravated about the lack of answers. We are all in the same boat wanting answers to all of the questions, but if we had them the show would be over..... :)

Some of your questions have not been addressed by the show's writers so only they can answer. As for the rest of your questions, buy or rent the first two seasons on DVD.

You have no idea how complicated your question is. Go rent the prior season. There are entire websites dedicated to discussing and dissecting each episode and the related theories. Answering here be impossible.
