Ideas To Help Control Government Spending?

since the government has a problem with wasting our money, i was wondering if others see ways to cut spending. Example:
Child's ADD meds are controlled and by law prescription must be obtained from doctor every month.
State insurance money could be saved if a med nurse were allowed to do vitals and distribute prescriptions - for monitoring-most of the time you don't need the doctor unless something changes .
Another is Social Security- I don't think politicians should be exempt from paying in
What is your opinion? and where is the best place to offer suggestions to the government?

Stop buying weapons systems that were designed to fight the Cold War. It's a new era now.

End Bush's "Faith-Based Initiative" which is just a way to subsidize religion, which needs to pay its own way.

Raise taxes on the wealthy to pay off the National Debt over 10 years. The interest on this debt costs us over $250 billion a year, much of that debt owned by Arabs or the Chinese, who do not have our best interests at heart and who could collapse out economy by dumping it.

take all the money we put into SS and put it somewhere where it is needed , everyone needs to start their own retirement account and not depend on the government . to pay for the iraq war we need to get the oil to pay for our expenses for giving them security , this was the plan and legal but if we do the democrats will say that is the only reason we are there - oil , hopefully this will happen after the november elections . your nurse giving meds could be a good idea if they were able to monitor them like doctors . get rid of welfare completely , we need another system that cannot be taken advantage of . give politicians a fixed salary for their position and get rid of bonuses that could easily be munipulated . tax the hell out of tobacco , alcohol and any other drug that doesn't serve a purpose . make all government vehicles electric , we have the technology , does the president really need 10 chevy suburbans wherever he goes that get 10 miles a gallon , we can make a jet that can fly itself but can't make a large suburban type vehicle that can get 50 miles a gallon .

I would love to see congress lose their retirement package and have to live with Social Security. You would see some major attention given to the program at that time. In the meantime we the people get screwed.

Connect all spending decisions directly to those that have to pay for them! This will limit spending immediately! The more layers inbetween the easier it gets to spend money that isn't yours to spend! Ask the jews this question and don't be surprised by the answer you get from them!
