There is a pattern for them on lionbrands site.

You can try

about.com/crochet. They have a good library of free patterns. You can also make a paper pattern from an existing mitten that fits and create your own pattern, combining stiches you like.

Never heard of or seen this, but sounds like a good idea. You might try www.freepatterns.com, if they don't have it try Annie's Attic. Maybe there is a link there somewhere. Did you try googling it? You may have to make up your own pattern.
