When I was 34 I met someone in a neighborhood bar and hit it off immediately. Turned out he was only 20. We've been in a serious relationship for just over a year and we are very happy. However, everyone in our neighborhood has something to say about us (even now) friends and family alike! How could me make people understand that we are not looking at our ages but our feelings????

I just got divorced after 27 years. The ex had an affair with a guy who is now 50 and still married, she is 46 that started when she was 40. Tried reconciliation, she preferred the older guy. he dumped her for a younger, mistress, hahahahahahahah!!!!!

I on the other hand am 48 and am involved with a 35 yoa woman who was betrayed as I was. We enjoy each others company, we have good time together and at our age it really doesn't matter what people think.

Our children think that we should just enjoy life and the opinions of the world be damned. And that is what we do!

It is okay, because when society looks at a man with a younger wife it's like (Oh!Okay, so that's the way it is, It's supposed to be like that), because we've had that sort of tradition for so long, that it is cemented in your head, however, because of this, society considers that if the man is older than the woman, that it is the norm, and it is okay, while, it is considered unorthedox for a woman to marry a man considerably older than him.It is just what society today is used to, and personally, I see no problem in it unless that the man is under 18 and the woman is 18 or older, and they are having relations, and vise/versa. I think that the world should just learn to be at peace with non conformist views, as well as the opinions they have had.Tradition is not that important. As long as those two people love each other, and their relationship is LEGALLY acceptable, WHY NOT?

Just ignore them - eventually they will come around. My family hated my boyfriend and we have been together almost 3 years. There is a slight age difference. Not like yours, age is a number. When two people are ment to be then its ment to be and others should shut up. Most people who run their mouths are jealous anyway. And your family should be supporting you.
Also its a hypocritical judgement. Like why Men if they date a lot of women they are revered but if women do it we are trash and other names.
It's the stupidity of the world. Don't let anyone influence your relationship and love each other no matter what age you are.

I am 20 and my husband is 34 and people still say things about us. My family treats hin like a child molester. If you really care about him, ignore everyone's comments. I wish you both all the best.

One thing I have learned from my own relationship, be patient with him. He is still figuring out life. Remember yourself when you were 20.

Most of the time, we let society control our lives, then we end up not being happy because we are living our lives for someone else. The only person we should be living for is God. However, since you are in that situation, ask yourself if you or him has to answer to someone else. If not, why do any of you has to care what anyone thinks. The only time you care about what others think is if they are the ones taking care of you guys. If you are living your own lives, then for get them. They will get over it.

My wife of 2 years is 14 years younger then me. My parent meet her parent after 6 month of dating her. And then we got married.

My father's current wife, my step mother is 12 years different, so is my wife's father and mother. 11 years different with my grand father and my grand mother.

Age is not a major thing so long as you two can "grow" together. At 20 he still got a lot to grow.

let all comments pass through your other ear...
remember boyzone's song entitled --no matter what***
whats important is that you two are happy no matter what they say!!!
be proud and set as living examples that love can move mountains...in love age doesnt matter ..love knows no race or boundaries..etc...
go on....and enjoy life.
