Vibranium is a fictional metal (I think it's an element, too) in the Marvel Universe. There are two types of vibranium.

The first kind, Wakandan Vibranium, absorbs vibrations pretty much perfectly. Captain America's shield has some of this in it, which is why it is virtually indestructible, able to withstand any impact. Wolverine wouldn't really be vulnerable to Wakandan Vibranium, although its presence could render his heightened sense of hearing useless, in theory.

He might, however, have a problem with Antarctic Vibranium, which causes the metals around it to lose molecular cohesion. Enough of that might turn his own metal adamantium bones, as strong as they are, into liquid, or at least make them soft. As far as I know, this hasn't happened before.

There are two metals in the Marvel mythos, vibranium and adamantium. (Petulantium was a spoof of adamantium, in the E-Man comic.)

Adamantium is a steel alloy. Vibranium is a metal alloy in a meteor that came from space and landed in Wakanda and in Antarctica. Vibranium has the ability to absorb energy and neutralize vibrations. Adamantium is near-indestructible, and also has magnetic properties, since it contains iron.

Wolverine's skeleton contains adamantium. It is so indestructibe that apparently the enzymes of his body cannot break it down, but it almost wears out his healing factor trying, so that it works very slowly.

After the adamantium was ripped out of him, he was shown getting run over by a car. He healed immediately; so fast he just stood up from getting hit by the car (Like Madcap, if you know him.) So it seems that is how fast his healing factor REALLY works, but the adamantium restricts it. Wolvei decided that he would rather have the adamantium back than to heal that fast, and it seems the readers like him better that way, too.

VIbranium is made out of...vibranium. It's a metal, usually found in the Black Panther's country of Wakanda, that absorbs sound, et al...I think it's also found in Ka-Zar's land, but it has different properties...different wavelengths, maybe?
