I have sold on ebay for more than 10 years. Its quite simple. Just signup on ebay, but you will need a valid credit card or checking account to signup. However, registering is free.

Then just post your item up for auction. You can include pictures for more hits. Then you pay the insertion fee and the final fee after someone wins your auction. You can just take the fee from the amount you sold your item for.

Then calculate the shipping by going to http://www.usps.com This is assuming you are using the united states postal service. You can average out the weight of your package and you should always give the maximum cost it would take for you to ship to the state that is the farthest from you.

First you will need to start an E-bay account, and then it will direct you to start a PayPal account. You will need a credit card or checking account info.

You take a digital picture of what you want to sell, and write an ad for it (they have forums to help you do so). Always be as honest as possible describing your items.

Figure out shipping by weighing your item on a bathroom scale, and go to the post office web site (e-bay will direct you there) and always leave it open for the buyer to calculate shipping by thier zip code so you are not surprised by shipping charges that you would have to pay later. The web site will ask you for the weight of the package, and possibly the size if I remember right.

It doesn't cost much. Ebay charges you a VERY small percentage of what your profit will be, and usually only a few cents or a dollar to list the ad.

Try it! I think you will enjoy the experience. If you go on ebays web site they have training type things where you can read all about it. Starting an account is free, and then you can look around and read things and learn.

I hope this has helped you out!

First, it's a game of TRUST. You must do exactly as you say you will. Answer email quickly and accurately. Try to please your customers, so you get positive feedback. Ignor mindless critism. Try to sell Cheap stuff, so you can get some positive feedback right away. Yes, PayPal is important, so get an account.

You pay for POSTING your items, and pay a percentage of the sale with eBay. So if your item does not sell, you LOSE.

Visit the US Post Office website to get the shipping cost. Keep in mind that the shipping box might cost some money too, so add that to your shipping costs. Visit http://www.usps.com In some cases, you will want to ship by UPS or FedEX. Check their websites too.

Here are three action websites that DO NOT charge a posting fee, so you might try to sell some stuff there too:

http://www.eptop.com

http://www.bidville.com

http://www.craigslist.com

depends on how you want to put your image in there, Lets say you want to sell a shirt for 15$ with a picture on the side when yous search and two pictures on the actual page , it will cost about $0.85 then you can go to www.ups.com or www.usps.com or whatever and it will show the costs for all the weights or boxes and to which location. Also you can just estimate the cost, or go over the amount. When you go to "sell" on ebay there is a bunch of help on there for you while you go thru the process. Plus there is a very small like 5% charge of whatever you actual sell, and it doesnt cost if you dont sell it.
