I had scoliosis back surgery about 8 years ago and before the surgery I was very limber and did gymnastics on a daily basis. I really miss doing these things and would like to start back doing them (slowly of course). What kind of things do you suggest to get me warmed up and back into it? I can still do my cartwheels and round-offs perfectly and I can still do a back bend, but I can't kickover. Haven't tried to hard though.

I do gymnastics and yoga helps me a ton! It really improves your strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. I definitely recommend it.

Do yoga! and some bridges to stretch, also when you are in a bridge, kick your legs straight up in the air- it helps with the kickover.

Try something really light to start out with like Yoga or Pilates, these are great ways to stretch.
