4) Use war only when necessary: Both parties have drug our country into needless wars, Dems with Vietnam and Republicans with Iraq...

I'd suggest you add 1 other question (I don't have an answer) - The massive debt this crew has run up + the huge commitment in future money. The next 10 (you pick it) generations will be paying off this debt if it's ever paid.
That is going to cripple any new government as to their options.
O and there is the massive foreign debt and the huge personnel debt and the pension short fall and on and on.

In 1) you take out "Secure our boarders" and "learn the language"
In 2) you take out "Not" and add the other 50% to be "redeployed" somewhere else
In 3) you add "with the knowledge that doing so will cause energy costs to rise" and "we're also going to be independent from domestic oil by adding further restrictions on exploration".

Most of that sounds pretty good. Of course it is arrogant of us to call the US president the president of the free world. There are many democratic nations that do not blindly follow our lead.
We need to help the middle east get weened from an oil economy as we get weened from oil consumpthion though. You take away the greatest source of income in that region and chaos will follow. Chaos anywhere is bad for the all.
