Slippery Slope type of question.
Is killing someone immoral? Well it can be argued that one may have to kill in self defense, or in order to eat (but you usually don't eat people unless you have serious issues) so is taking a life immoral? I would say it all depends on the person and the person's culture. In American society murder is illegal, wrong, and immoral. In ancient societies taking a life as an offernig to God or gods was considered a great act. If someone took the life of Hitler, Stalin, Tojo, Polpot, Napoleon, or any other fanatical leader woudl the world be better or worse then it is now? What if you could cure the entire world of cancer by just taking one life, you would have to do it, or would you? There is no clear answer to this question. It is what you personally think and feel. Is it illegal? Yes and no, in war we have to kill our enemies, what says a fight between two rival gangs is not a war and they are justified in what they are doing? Personally, I do feel it is immoral unless theer is nothing else that can be done.

Depends on society. Many past societies had no concept of divource. When a man grew tired of his wife, he just offed her and got another one. However these societies thought nothing of a man having "relations" with a 12 year old boy

In our society, I think killing is immoral no matter what religion (if any) you subscribe to. That whole do unto others as you would have done to you thing is a pretty logical way of defining what is morally right. I don't subscribe to any religion, but I know I don't want my stuff getting stolen, I don't like pain, and I hate when people lie. Thus it makes sense for me not to steal, hot to harm others, and not to lie.

I certainly would not want to die, and doubt that you would either. Therefor you should have no right to kill someone. I think if someone deserves a punishment, you could punish them in a way similar to how they harmed you. Or you can be the better man and forgive

Obvious "except fors" include survival (e.g. killing for food), self defense (so as not to be harmed).

I'd have to say that it depends - there are definitely people that the world would be better off without - I wouldn't have a problem taking them out! Child molesters, for example...
