1. Make sure you have an adult with a child under 12.
2. Dress for the weather. If it's 20 degrees and snowing don't wear a tinkerbell costume with nothing on underneath.
3. Make sure you carry a flashlight with you.
4. Never ever go into someone's house if you don't know them
5. Make sure your route is known and don't leave it.
6. Go with a friend. It's safer and more fun.
7. Inspect all of your candy when you get home. If it's opened or tampered with throw it away.
8. Never eat candy until you get home.
9. Never eat home made candy.
10. Wear bright colors. Or put a reflective strip on the back of your costume.
11. Don't run in front of cars.
12. Stay on the sidewalks where possible.
13. Playing pranks will only get the cops called on you.
14. Watch out for little kids. Don't ruin it for them.
15. Have fun!!!

go in groups.
carry flashlights.
put reflective tape on the costumes
stay in your neighborhood
sort thru the candy before you let the kids eat it
it's better to let them gorge themselves 1 or 2x and then throw it away rather than piecing it out
