I have just finished my degree in Social care, I have wanted to do this kind of work forever, now that I have got my qualifications I can't find work.

I will not apply for a job that says Carers wanted no experience neccessary. As I can gather that they are offering a low standard of care. Yet I personally do not have a great amount of experience.

I want to work for a respectible company offering quality care. So that I can learn new skills, and myself offer excellent care to service users.

Its not that i'm being picky, I will work with any client group, I will consider most jobs, any kind of hours, although the work has to be inside Southampton and I don't drive. I know that this is a big deal but I do plan to learn soon.

I thought that there were more care jobs than you could shake a stick at. but there are none (that I can find). Every week I look at the same 3 jobs advertised that are of no use to me.

Why are they making it hard to get into this field?

You are being picky. Take what you can to get experience to put on your resume and make some cash. There is nothing to stop you continuing to apply for better jobs but at least you have work until you find one.

The longer you don't find a job, the harder it is to convince interviewers to take you when others apparently wouldn't.

You are not easily pleased. You reject jobs requiring no experience but they are specifically for someone with your lack of experience.

I noticed that, I was looking into something like Mental Health Care and came up against the same problem.

I got 3 application forms and all said experience essential. So I don't understand the big recruiting drive on TV!!

A great place to start any career is in government service - I bet there is a gaol there - probably more than one. Find out where their employment offices are and start applying for vacancies working with the prisoners.

Also, schools need social workers and turnover is high.

And, the agency that deals with abused children and family issues probably also has high turnover.

Good luck to you

Y!A could get a clue and droop the checklist satisfied human beings. they could certainly examine the checklist formerly it is deleted. From how I know it, it takes 2 to checklist and then it quite is in basic terms deleted consistent with that standards. hardly seems trustworthy.
