It's based on a true story, believe it or not. It was listed in the Guiness Book of Records until '76 when a larger gold heist happened. Suppoesedly everybody got caught except that German tanker who went to Switzerland and established a business that was going still in the '70's!!!!

It is not the best war picture ever made, but it is a fun one. Nice research too. I didn't know it was based on a true story.

Loved Telli Salvalis & Donald Sutherland. I had my kids watch that several years ago. It has lived past its years but still one great laugh.
