It depends on your body really... I always get cramps before I start my period about a week or a week and a half before. Before I found out I was pregnant.. I started getting cramps about 2 weeks before, and I went and bought tampons and everything, but it never came, and i was pregnant.

This just happened to me...My pre-period cramps lasted about a week. I went to the Dr and was told it could be that I was pregnant(which I was not) bowel movements(constipation, which is what ended up being wrong).
Are you having any other pregnancy symptoms? I would not worry about it until you have missed your period.
Another thing to watch out for is that if you are pregnant and you have really bad cramps you could be having a miscarriage...I have been told that if that were to happen you would know w/out question what it is...
Good Luck!!

I've had it happen to me before, where I had horrible cramping and did not get my period for some time later. But you should keep an eye on it, and be on the safe side.

sounds like PMS to me...mine usually comes 3 days before my period...i get the lower cramping and back pain...then i can count on my period coming 3 days later...
if there might be a chance your are pregnant, easy resolution of that would be to go buy a home pregnancy test....good luck

Hopefully and probably just premenstrual cramps- and you will start later- if not implantation pain, or worst case scenario an ectopic pregnancy- but the pain would be really, really bad! take care - D

Yep, i do all the time. My sister gets them really bad before and during hers. She has cysts on her ovary's so if the pain gets really bad I would take a trip to the Dr. for cysts. Tell your bf not to jump the gun here. Take care.
