This is normal, in dog pack sociology, they follow their pack leader where ever.
My dogs do it to, one has a bit of seperation anxiety, so he'll tear up any door that seperates us, thankfully he doesn't do it with our guest only me...

I am thinking it is normal. My dog will either sit outside the door and watch me go potty or come in with me. BUT.....if I CLOSE the door she has a fit, whining and crying. She just wants to be sure that I'm going to be okay while under HER watch.

My pets do that too, in fact they dislike all kind of closed doors... If I close the bedroom door they imediately try to open it, and if they can't, they start to cry (for help i think)... the same thing happens with the rest room door...
I think they just like to be with us, wherever we are.

They just want to be around you.
I have pet beds in all my rooms because my dog follows me to each room.
Had a dog who followed me in circles as I mowed the lawn.

I think they just want to be close to you. My dog follows me and waits at the door at the top of our stairs until I am done. Its almost as if she is on guard duty!

Ha ha - mine do too!! If I close the door they cry so I just let them come in. It's not a big deal, they don't know or care what they are seeing!

I think its because they don't like to be left alone or maybe they are just curious just like little kids are.

they want to be wherever you are, they don't care where! And the smells are wonderful - to them!! - my dog loves to watch the water in the bowl as it flushes.
