Most of the seeds will be attached to the core - the top area where the stem of the pumpkin is. If you carve a nice, clean cut all the way around the top, let's say a 6 inch radius, it will pull out neatly, with most of the seeds attached to it - the same way that you can cut a green pepper and get most of the seeds together. Now - you won't get them all because some will fall down inside, but it does make it a little easier.

Actually, I've found that the easiest way is an ice cream scooper -- especially one with a thin edge! It slices into the pulp just a little, then scoops out huge clumps of the seeds and membrane easily. A few quick scoops and you're done! Good luck.

Use a large spoon and just scoop out the pulp and seeds all together. Easy and fast!

I too did hate it, but being a guy, I usually get the biggest spoon, the biggie and just scoop them out, not in the ladle, in a plastic bag, then poof, out it goes

using a large spoon works really well. unfortunately after that you have to pickt he rest of them out yourself. however sometimes they will come out in a chunck and then you just shake em and they will fall out themselves.
