you should be able to add more... what you need to do is open your case (make sure you are grounded to something metal)... and make sure it is unplugged first.... then look for yoru ram cards... and how many slots you have. Also, note the type of ram that you have. If all of your slots are full, you will need to take some out and replace with larger ones.... otherwise you can just add them in.

Yes. Visit http://www.coastmemory.com and look for your model DELL. This will tell you how many slots and how big you can expand it. You probably can get a 512MB module that works with your existing 256MB module, and this website will guarantee what they sell.
If you are thinking about upgrading to Windows Vista when it comes out in January or so (which I do not recommend) then consider upgrading to the MAX that the computer can take. Vista will need IT ALL.

You're probably better off going to Dell first and looking up your computer. It'll tell you how much memory your motherboard can support.
I've compared a lot of places for memory upgrades and the cheapest I found was Arch Memory (see link).
You'll probably be better off replacing both of your current memory modules with one new one, capable of carrying the maximum your computer can handle.

It all depends on the Processor. if you have purchased latest then depening on the slots that your motherboard has you can either add one more chip or sell one 256 MB chip and place 512 MB instead of it so it becomes 256+512=768 Mb
Bye for now

Or - circulate to the Dell internet site, pick help, circulate into device configuration, and enter your provider tag there -- it is going to inform you the form and the specs of the device .

yes you can but it is best to call dell frist to find out what ram card you need to buy , when they give you the name of the card then you can buy from other coz dell will ask a lot of cash from you for the ram card and you can buy the same card from other company you dont have to buy from dell , just make out to them your going to buy from them ,to get the right card name, then buy from other ,
try this store

if it only has 2 slots, then you'd have to remove one or both sticks (depending on how much more memory you want to add)
