Other life does not exist to benefit humans--it exists on its own merit. that type of attitude-that things only beneficial to humans are worth existing--is selfish and nonsensical. What good is a human to a rattlesnake?

Some people eat them, they remind us to always be aware. And the #1 answer is they would probably ask what good is a human to a rattlesnake? And then we could discuss human rattle snakes. I always told my co-worker that the worst snakes were the 2 legged kind.

If we get rid of rattlesnakes then the rodent population will increase, we will have more scavenger animals and less plants due to seeds being eaten by mice. Less grass meeans less cows, pigs, chickens and eventually less humans. On the plus side mouse trap salesmen would have lots of buisness.

I've heard there is no remedy or cure for a rattlesnake's poison. I am not sure. But they do eat the rodents and other bush creatures like grass-cutters (a grass cutter is in the shape of a field rat..only about eight or ten times bigger in size and is taken as 'bush-meat' in Africa).

First, besides the obvious "pest-eating," a rattlesnake's venom is used to help make medicines for people with heart disease and other problems. And also, they're really friggin cool!

Other than providing their venom to make serum for humans that are bitten by another rattlesnake and being good to eat, I don't know.

They keep the rodent population down, which results in less crop damage and less rodent spread disease. They are a very important predator in the eco system and should be respected and treasured.

Well, they do eat all kinds of rodents, but my question is, why do you assume that every living thing on the planet has to benefit you? We certainly don't do a hell of a lot of good for some of them (Rattlers included)
