I find it incredible that so much negative, useless and LIBERAL (of course) energy is constantly wasted whining about non-issues and non-stories like Guantanamo and Bush, when maniacal nincompoops like Kim Jong Il are playing with their latest neclear toys. As ALWAYS, it will take a catastrophe like a nuke falling directly on a liberal's head, or his/her loved ones, to provoke a SANE response from one of these losers.

Where did pure common sense ever go in America and Europe? We don't give our children loaded guns to play with. We TAKE THEM AWAY and SPANK them if they even go near one -- that is, if we aren't from the loony left.

So now "Dear Leader, " the same crackpot who watched his people boil grass to survive and justifiably made Bush' s Axis of Evil along with that terrorist idiot in Iran are rattling sabers constantly while libs look for the good guys to blame. How pitifully typical!

This world is sadly headed in the wrong direction -- and all due to gutless LIBERALS!

i do no longer think of the know-how could be 'hypercritical' yet quite a 'closed' communist us of a like North Korea , with their new chief , desirous to show his muscle , could be a severe subject to non violent neighbours which includes South Korea. If this 'close society' does not have self belief in international family members on the international degree , they could a minimum of be demanded to attend a United countries emergency assembly to reply to questions. motives why some mature , democratic and non violent countries have their very own nuclear deterents is basically for that - to deter rogue states which includes NK from putting a nuclear armed weapon into yet another us of a for no obvious reason. the international is observing the Communist State very heavily.

I'll preface what I'm about to say by stating that I am a Republican.

I don't think you can fault liberals or Clinton for NK. I'm no fan of Clinton and I have my qualms about where his admin left us, but in my opinion NK has gotten to the point because of a lack of attention by everyone for the past 25 years.

In a way it's rightfully so as we can readily identify the enemy in that situation and our efforts were needed elsewhere (like the Middle East). We also don't need to worry about a uniformed military using a nuke for fear of retalliation. Nukes are only a threat when in the hands of terrorists because they represent no one body that we can easily identify and eliminate.

Don't worry about NK's nuke capabilities. They just want attention and now we'll give it to them and keep them at bay. They're like children threatening to run away. They really don't want to, but will if you don't string them along. Once you've gotten them to calm down you discipline them and it won't happen again. Eventually, that country will go bankrupt like the USSR and it'll be fine. In fact, they're already in trouble, but because they're much smaller than the USSR damage control is a lot easier.

The Middle East is our real threat and they've proven it. I'll agree to a point that Iraq is a mess, but at the same time we need to stabilize that area of the world. Way too much has gone on there for far too long without us doing anything and in some cases knowing anything.

If any fault is to fall with Clinton over security, it's because of his budget cuts that he executed AFTER the '93 WTC bombing. His cuts directly affected intel which could have been used to keep the situation in the Middle East from unfolding. That, of course, is only postulation and we'll never know. It only matters what we do now and I think we're in the right direction. Despite the cuts, I won't fault Clinton for NK because after the '93 WTC and subsequent attacks, any President would have made the Middle East a priority over NK anyway.

Aside from that, it's not like anyone can go in there and stop them from developing weapons. We can only convince them it's in their best interest not to. Don't sweat it, they ain't gonna do anything with it.

I am so glad you asked that question. It gives me a chance to point out that while we were actually practicing diplomacy (remember when we used to do that?) and talking to N Korea they did not test nuclear weapons. George Bush's isolationist strategy has been a singular failure. You may disagree but expert after expert agrees with me. One of his father's former cabinet members has just come out with a book saying that very thing.

As to the development of N Korea's nuclear program, based on what evidence (you know, the factual stuff?) are you making the claim against liberals? ABB a European company sold the N Koreans nuclear technology. Whose name do we find on the board of that company at the time of the sale? Donald Rumsfeld. A liberal? I don't think so. He has yet to answer any questions about that sale.

You neocons will attack, blame, and point the finger at anyone and everyone as long as it enables you to escape ever having to put responsibility on this administration or its people. You can't point at the liberals all you want dude but the FACTS do not back you up on this one. OF course, when did you guys ever bother with facts?

Of course it was Bush who refused to take North Korea seriously until recently, and Clinton was pretty vigilant about north Korea. Hard to see how North Korea exploding a bomb is the fault of liberals.

Strange...
our conservative government has done nothing to prevent kim jong il from obtaining nuclear power...
bush has wasted all our efforts in iraq instead of focusing on n. korea and iran...
and somehow you blame liberals?

bush is responsible for not stopping kim jong il in the first place!

you have lost your mind!

Maybe but the other side is just as wrong when they do not stand up and say what is going on is wrong. Two wrongs still do not make a right.

The last time I looked we had a conservative president, and he didn't invade North Korea to stop nuclear weapons. He invaded Iraq.
