AOL's "XM" radio. The radio is free and has many stations with upbeat music and even a "workout songs" station. There is a nominal charge to download songs though. You could listen to the stations to get some ideals then download them from limewire.com.

I go for Jamiroquai, The Black Eyed Peas, Queens of the Stoneage, The Darkness, Queen, Prince, Basement Jaxx (Seriously, they're awesome while on one of those damn machines), Gnarls Barkley, The Offspring, Gorillaz, AC\DC, Panic! At the Disco, Puddle of Mudd, Eminem (for the days when I want to beat the living hell out of my trainer), Scissor Sisters, and some random disco.

I suggest some Good Charlotte, maybe.... This isn't the easiest thing to do 'cuz I don't know your style. Personally, I like cr@ppy music for my work out, like Avril Lavinge, the soundtrack to Kangaroo Jack, and some other pop stuff, like N*SYNC (I know, gag, but it helps. Makes me run faster just to get away from the horrible music! Eh, I'm a dork). Basically, I like something I can sing along to in my head, or something with bright lyrics. I've tried, but Marilyn Manson is not best to run with. Hope this helps.

The Rolling Stones, "Start Me Up". Maybe a little Booker T Jones and the boys "Soul Limbo"...anything by Delaney and Bonnie...Jerry Lee live and drunk as usual...Southside Johhny and the Asbury Jukes...once you break that sweat punch up some good old zydeco..."laissez bontemps roulez!" oh, yeah.

Try trance, it's kind of like techno but better. Try the "Tunnel Trance Volumes 1 2 3 etc.". They're rather pricey but I think they're worth it. They got me through countless hours at the gym. Hope that helps.

Just look up Paul Oakenfold. He's the best there ever was, and he puts out a crapload of music. Try his global underground sets - I use them when I work out daily
