WOW, can't believe I found this complaint here. I wrote many a note in Ebay sites complaining about this very thing. I got some hostility saying I was predjiduce.
Ebay has allowed China too sell on Ebay for free. It may only be temporary but it has impacted the marketplace. My sales fell along with many others. China can offer almost anything for less and they are smart. Take over ebay and run the little guys out. Yes, some are selling cheap immitations but they can sell anything and make it cheaper with their low overhead and pay to workers.
Here is an example:
When store fees increased I decide to find other items to sell with my lingerie. I looked into bridal gowns. I found many Chinese selling them dirt cheap. At one store they make custom ordered bridal gowns to your exact measurements with beads, pearls, lace, all the extras for a beautiful gown and I could get them shipped from China in 3 weeks custom made. Total prices were from $49 to $200. I saw nothing over that. In the US a gal getting married would have a hard time finding a decent gown not even custom for under $500 and many run $1,000 and up. How in the world can the Chinese make them so cheap. It is cheap labor.
I am upset that Ebay allows them to list for free and have stores that will put the rest of us out of business.
Look at my site. I no longer have a store and selling minimum.
My sales are flat and now I am basically giving my items away at $1.00 to $5.00 per item in lingerie. I can't see doing this for long.
My user ID is pokerqueen2win.
Thanks for this POST.

Well i don't think you should refer them to chinese fakers because they aren't. I think you just can't accept that everyone is trying to sell and buy. Think about it, most of the product in this world is made by china. Think twice before you say something like that. There are all types of people out there and if you want genuine things from ebay you should open your mind a little and just accept that everyone is the same, whether buying or selling.

You could try building up good feedback on eBay & if you sell enough, you could qualify for PowerSeller status which means people will have confidence in buying from you and you won't be affected by the con men on eBay. I know what you mean about 'chinese fakers' though - they pose the biggest problem not in undermining peoples' confidence in eBay but in that they bid up your items then don't pay for them!!

QXL sells stuff but its not as well used as e bay.
Steer clear of goods outside of the UK and only use sellers with good feedback scores. When looking at feedback its a help to know if people are buying as well as selling, fakers rarely buy!!!
