Shiraz: I'm not against all wars, some wars are actually justified. WWII, no one would ever doubt that, of course.
Liberals know some wars are needed. YOu just need to gather the evidence and it has to be a last resort thing.
I'm sorry, but I truly believe that when it comes down to removing bruatal dictators and liberating people, NKOrea is where to start. KimJung makes Saddam look like Santa Claus and makes NKorea look like Disney land in comparison to prewar Iraq.

North Korea is like a motorcycle gang running a red light right in front of a policeman and the police is too scared to pull them over and give them a ticket.

Unfortunately, there isn’t anything short of an all out war to stop North Korea. The desperation of the everyday citizen is part of the problem because they are suppressed and have no voice. No apposing view is allowed within the country. North Korea’s gigantic standing army is a war waiting to happen.

You’re right in that sanctions will only hurt the common citizen even more.

In respond to precise answer a million. it fairly is a Korean civil warfare. Peace or no longer is as much as the koreans. the U. S. has the stunning to refuse peace with North Korea. 2. North Korea has made it sparkling that they decide to subdue the "pupet" South Korea govern!ment. the single u . s . a . 2 device will in no way artwork because of the fact the those 2 device are on an analogous time unique. they'll merely beat one yet another to dying the 2d ceasefire is lifted merely like North and South Vietnams after the Paris treaty. 3. you're perfect with this one different than I dont see something incorrect with the U. S. pivoting to Asia. Does it destabilize the region? No, no longer as far as I situation, maximum international locations look welcoming the U. S. extra beneficial than China or Russia. 4. The Korean warfare became a proxie warfare of two ideologies, "communism" and "anti-communism". it incredibly is not any longer purely the U. S. dont desire peace with the North, the South dont seem to like it the two. So what's the real situation right here? confident there is ton of propaganda against North Korea. yet might it incredibly is extra useful to have an impoverish Korea or a thriving South Korea? The economy of the two international locations talk for itself. Pyongyang isn't completely verbal. Their rocket exams, nuclear exams and danger to wreck the South are time-honored and mentioned via different international locations besides. they have their very own wargames. Theyvjust ensue to have adverse allies who dont seem to offer plenty help. to respond to the main suitable question. a substantial (i dont like the word superpower) power gets blamed for each little thing incorrect interior the international because of the fact there are continuously different powers attempting to beat it down. whilst Britain and France "owned" the international in addition they have been given blamed. whilst the chinese language "owned" Asia some years in the past they have been additionally blamed for many astrocity. And so usa will save geting blamed till the day it no longer the international substantial power.

I see your point but no, I dont believe they are useless.

Heres why. N Korea's state of affairs is a result of they re irresponsible behavior towards the international community. They have ignored the Nuclear Regulatory Committee and proceeded with development of WMD's in spite of International warnings. They already have trade sanctions imposed against them. The outcry comes from the UN, not the US although we denounce their actions aggressively.

N Korea should focus on feeding its people and not committing brash examples of human rights violations. They have spent millions, perhaps billions on development of nuclear weapons.

Further sanctions will negatively effect the people of N Korea. When people aren't happy and starving, revolt or revolution becomes problematic to say the least. N Korea needs responsible leadership that does not ostracize the international community. The world would be exponentially more dangerous if rouge third world nations are allowed to posses weapons that can invoke massive destruction.

" JUST" imposing sanctions will actually have a great effect on N.Korea. Unlike many other rogue nations, N.Korea doesn't have much support elsewhere. Will it bring them to their knees? YES. Will it make them CHANGE? It doesn't appear that way but maybe. However, I'm in favor of destroying their government and military capabilities. Sanctions are nice, blockades are nice too, but this ball-game should be played like the last game of the season. For all the marbles, right now. If you think that's too harsh, then what would you propose when they have more nuclear weapons tomorrow?? How tough will that ball-game be? How many more will die as a result of waiting?

A similar situation happened with a degenerate playboy, King Farouk of Egypt, being overthrown by his own military. That also happened many times in the Roman Empire, so I think we have an opening to get the NoKo generals to get rid of this self-indulgent pig. They may not be so nice themselves, but you have to follow up on a policy to prevent blowback. It's worth trying; I think we can contact them through the Russians or Chinese. Or throw the Chinese generals a bone and let them invade and annex North Korea.

I disagree. Imposing sanctions is really the only option available at this point. Since China, N. Korea's only "friend", has condemned the nuclear test this will be an eye opener for N. Korea.
Sanctioning oil and other commodities will be the way to react to N. Korea's threat.

I believe that the world is struggling as to what to do. It would seem that most world leaders lean towards sanctions rather than attempting any military action. If China joins in sanctions could have an impact. I'd rather try those than any agressive action.

It's just ashamed that we have a foreign policy which precludes us from having any diplomacy with nations we don't like.

Not necessarily. It would put some more people behind us against them. I'm not much of a war-monger but if we had to we want to know there are people at our back and China's showing promise. With China turning over we may have a chance to disarm them, whether diplomatically or physically we'll have to see.

It's useless. What's there to sanction? There's food aid going in. That's about it. They have no money to buy anything and they have nothing to sell. Sanctions are just political talk in this case.
