Uh, yeah. UIC isn't all that. They'd LOVE to have your calibre of student.

Now, if you were talking about the University of Chicago...you'd have a tough time. They are very selective.

The average UIC student is in the top quarter of his/her class, and the average ACT is 23-24. UIC looks more at class rank than GPA. The average for incoming freshmen have risen in the last few years. http://www.dria.uic.edu/quickfacts/default.asp?rptname=meanact UIC tends to attract very good and competitive students. Assuming your class rate is in the top third, if you raise your ACT to about a 22 or 23, you should have absolutely no problems getting in. With ACT, the de facto minimum score is a 20.
UIC is not the easiest school to get into. It is not like Chicago State or Northeastern. I have it when people think like that.
One thing you should know about UIC, they do not have grade inflation. You have to fight for your grade.
UIC uses rolling admissions, so apply early.

I agree that UI@C is not exclusive (unlike University of Chicago or Northwestern. Also, University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana is harder to get into than UI@C). You can get a copy of the admissions application online (see below). It doesn't seem to specify the ACT score that's required (my sister got in with 20), but it does have a list of the required courses you need to have taken in high school.

i'm confident you may get into Univ. of Illinois Urbana. yet once you opt to get into extra useful engineering faculties like Stanford or MIT, you may a minimum of have one or 2 national awards. Like, a gold or silver medal interior the u . s . a . physics olympiad.
