Isn't that the same thing they said about Iraq?

I agree China and as well as Japan would be the likely choice to handle North Korea since they are the most prone to the dangers that North Korea is doing. China has issued a warning about the nuclear testing and so did Japan but to me both China and Japan are trying not to get into a war with North Korea knowing the dangers that it can present to there people and that is totally understandable.
I would hope that China would step in because China has a very good military and so does Japan, Kim Jung IL should be removed because of the dangers that he is putting his own people as well as neighboring countries as well. This man is power hungry and he wants to dominate the region as well if China and Japan joined forces that would make him rethink about what he is doing at this moment. I really don't think that North Korea wants a war but then looking at all the military hardware that North Korea already has it kinda makes you wonder what he is trying to say. Any Chinese or Japanese citizens that are online needs to talk to there governments and consider removing the North Korean threat immediately.

Maybe but there's no way China would go along with that. They're already worried about a massive immigration if war did break out in N. Korea. "Making" China do anything, is a hard sell. Keep in mind they also own most of the US's national debt now, doubt it will be just the US making the demands on who and when to invade.
Even more so the humanitarian crisis that would be left behind would be very bad, which again would cause even more instability in the region.

China going capitalist and joining America would bring the world together .
Unite the two continents in a spirit of love and peace .Establish antartica as a prison colony for the world to use and end once and for all the ability for escape an automated prison with a minimum of guards a 16x16 cell for your term seperated from all other human contact .A bed a computer to the world with cable tv and movies .You serve your term naked and the only sructure you need is one to keep the cold out not the prisoner in .You simply freeze to death if you leave .Give them a key to open and close the door to the world and the chance to visit another inmate if they want but remind them we do not protect or help anyone from asualts of any kind from other prisoners .Family and friends may ship them anything but clothing .
Can i get way off the point of the original question or what .

Its difficult now though isn't it. They have Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction! With a leader like Kim Jong-Il if N.Korea was attacked he would let a Nuke off - without a doubt - thats why he is testing them because of the threat of an American attack - I'm sure he would use it on the Chinese too.
If the Chinese did attack then N.Korea would be flattened. The Chinese army is MASSIVE. It could be the start of the end of the world.
I think it needs to be an assasination of the President by a N.Korean. You can't get in or out of N.Korea so it needs to be an inside job & if he gets killed then no-one will say FIRE!!!

Well the thing is north Korea is bran washed.
They are taught to love Kim jong ill and every thing he does is right.
If china was to attack, allot of innocent people would get hurt,
Believe me i would Love for The USA to just go Drop a lot of bombs on them, But it would become a bad situation, possibly a nuclear war.
Should the United States allow a country openly hostile to it and armed with nuclear weapons to perfect an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of delivering nuclear weapons to U.S. soil?... If North Korea persists in its launch preparations, and tests. the United States should immediately make clear its intention to strike and destroy the North Korean Taepodong missile before it can be launched.

As bad as things are in NK, a collapse of what's left of their government and society would be the worst possible outcome at present. You'd potentially have 23 million refugees heading for China and SK. Neither contry is prepared to deal with a sudden influx of that many people. The rioting in NK as a result would potentially claim milions of lives. Then there's the specter of the NK military running amok in the confusion, slaughtering hundreds of thousands and invading SK in a last-ditch attempt at maintaining control.
Very scary!

how exactly do you plan on making china do it?
do you consider that despite their worries it is also a somewhat useful card to have NK with nuclear technology?
I agree tho, those people lead a **** life compared to what they could and they probably dont all realise that.
Probably the best thing is assasination of Kim and destabilisation of the government followed by revolution. Very messy but the least trouble for the west.

Have you fools learnt nothing from Iraq? Or Vietnam? O how about the Korean war? If you allowed them to decide their own fate and all go communist originally NK would not be the problem it is now. But no, you give them, a target to hate (ie. you) to blame all their problems on and this is what allows a nutter like Kao to stay in power - hey, it's not my fault it's those Americans again; and it is.

What freedoms are you speaking of that the Chinese enjoy?
The freedom to petition their government on Tiananmen Square? No, not that... The freedom to spread non-state-sanctioned news via the internet or traditional presss? No, not that... I know! The freedom to bust rocks in a state-operated Gulag! Yeah!!
Oh, wait... They already do that under Kim Jong Il, anyway. Allright, I give up.

Jane, You can't 'make' China do it. Just like we can't make others join us in our endeavors. We can ask and we can negotiate with friends, but you can't 'make' them do things. Your question brings back a recent memory. When people of the liberal mind-set didn't want to do anything in Iraq, because some other countries wouldn't join with us. The lesson we all were taught in our youth is that " YOU DO WHAT IS RIGHT, REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOUR FRIENDS ARE DOING"
..........REMEMBER?
