These lyrics seem to contradict themselves until you listen to the bridge. he female singer says that 'it will all turn to dust and we'll all fall down, sooner or later he'll be screwing around.' Meatloaf says he won't do that. So in other words, He will do anything but cheat or hurt someone, for love.

The lady in the song has obviously been suggesting some very 'wrong' things and he got all shy and said ' I would do anything for love but i won't do THAT'
