Yes its school recorder lessons (where are the ear plugs??)
Please can anyone remember what notes various fingers make as we seem to have conflicting ideas on the subject.
I can remember where all the fingers go and how to produce the notes but cannot remember what fingers go with what notes. Is d when six holes on the front and the one on the back covered? What about the rest?
And for reading the music, i thought it went e,g,b,d,f, but we conflict on this too.
Help anyone??

Left hand - Thumb on back.Plus:
First finger at top = B
first top two holes - A
first top three holes =G

Thumb on back plus second hole only = C
second hole without thumb =D

thumb on back, first three stops with fingers covered with left hand (same as for G) PLUS first two stops with right hand =E
all three = D
first finger off with right hand (last two holes covered, = F

This is for a descant - which is what they teach first in schools these fingerings also apply for a tenor and a sopranino. The treble recorder has different fingerings, just to confuse things! You have flats and sharps too - I have forgotten those though, sorry!
