Lena has been my best friend for 8 years and now i can't stand her. She lives out of state temporarly while going to school. she is always wanting me to come get her and it's a nine hour round trip. I always have to pay for gas, her cigarettes, and food for her. Then she is always asking me to buy her other stuff. She never seems gratefull either. She is really bossy too. I don't know what has happened to her. Why she has changed so much. I just don't want to hurt her but i can't stand her anymore. She is so rude to me and my friends, family , and boyfriend. Help me please!

Well, you could either tell her in a hurtful way- and that's how it will come off, even if you're not trying to be mean, or you can just stop hanging with her, don't answer her calls. If one day you happen to run into her, just say how she was changing in a bad way, and you didn't know how to break it off without being a jerk. OR, you could try to have a serious talk with her- tell her she's changing into something ugly and its not becoming on her. Maybe she isn't aware. Give her a chance to make things different, that way you may be able to still have a relationship. You know, people do change- just because they're your friends now, doesn't mean they have to be forever! Think about that.

You have let her have this behavior for a long time now. She knows your not going to say anything to her because you haven't. If you don't want to hurt her, then avoid the phone calls, tell her your busy doing something that is important and you can't come or just flat out tell her what you have said here. Honesty is the best policy. Maybe if you two talk and you tell her how you feel, maybe she will realize what she has been doing to you. Some people are oblivious to other people's feelings. Good luck.

I really think that it is time to let her know that you are not putting up with it anymore. Let her know that she has changed, in the nicest possible way... it might hurt her to begin with but i can assure you that after a while she will realize that you were right. she might be a little jealous of your relationship with friends and family. Usually people are only horrid if they are insecure. She will thank you in the end. Lets face it you don't like the person she has turned into so what have you got to loose.. Good luck

If i were you i'd tell her. she needs to stop treating you the way she does. For 8 years you've know her and now shes changing? Whats going on? Tell her how you feel then if you feel the same way tell her your no any longer friends and leave her. Wlak away and don't turn back.

tell her like it is!...ask her why she has changed...& if shes just going to use you shes not being a very good friend...tell her if she doesn't change her ways your friendship is over....just tell her how shes hurting you & if she doesn't accept things then their are better friends out there (smiles) it is sad though after so many years i know

Just calmly tell her you are tired of her doing you the she is doing you. If she doesn't take it seriously, say your sorry that you don't want to be her friend, then walk off.

Just tell her that she needs to stop ask you for stuff and if she gets mad. Just don't visit her and she will get the point.
