My birth mother's name is Sylvia Jane Sturgeon. I know she worked in binderies all her life around Dallas Texas. She was tall, 6 ft 1 with reddish hair. She would be in her seventies today. If anyone knew her please respond.

Try writing letters to Dallas newspapers and ask if they'll print your letter. Your mother is'nt the usual 5ft 2ins,brown hair,so a lot of people may remember her.Do you have a Salvation Army missing persons searchline, or a similar church group who helps track people down? I know it's a long shot, but how about contacting some shows like Oprah and Montel Williams. They often do shows about missing people and have some great people working for them. I really wish you well in your search and hope things work out

She may still be there in the area. If you have a friend in a police department, you can ask them to run a warrants search on her. If she's ever been arrested, pulled over for speeding. That can give you a general area to search.

Obituaries sometimes are a great source of information. It may be easier to find HER parents, and look up survivors to determine name changes and areas.

I assume you tried a google search. Whitepages. com Other than that, you'd have to hire an investigator.

You could start in Dallas by contacting the vital statistics office. You may also contact the locale police department if you know her last address. If that doesn't work run ads in as many newspapers as you can. If all else fails go on the Oprah Winfrey show. They have helped others find their lost loved ones.

Try www.zabasearch.com I looked and found a woman who would be 74 by that name in KY. Good luck in your search in finding your mother.
